I re-registered to have more options on the site. I wanted to be known as 4cams from the start and now I can. I'm still the same old vet with ptsd that loves Sportsters and will stay in the wind as long as God allows.

I'm happy with who I am, a Sportster rider, and thanks for the help again Mike.

Thanks Rick, I didn't go any where, I just could not have my location show or get personal messages under the old format. I like to see where the person posting is from. Some times that will tell alot about where the person is coming from and their attitude. It is really hard for me to understand a persons point of view in this medium. Some people sound offensive when they really are not intending to be. So the more information we have the better to be understood and people not get caught up in useless ill will. Also I can now edit my mistakes in grammar.

Yeah, I should probably do something like that too. Good reasons on your part...

Default I'm a Vietnam vet myself

Recon 25th Infantry Division Cu Chi 70-71

I know what you mean about communicating through this media or is it medium? Of course it does give us exposure to tons of people we would probably never meet.

I have never ridden a Sportster but I rode on a couple in my youth. When I bought my first Harley this past July, I almost got one but went with a Wide Glide instead. It just seemed to fit me a little better.

I think you're right, it is is all about what fits you best. I think there are many vets out there that might benefit from a vet forum. There is not much information out there on getting their benefits from the VA. I have had to jump through many hoops and now know who to see to get what is due. I've helped some guys in my area with agent orange who didn't even know their damage was from agent orange. Most guys are already gone, so if you or anyone out there needs to know where to start, let me know and I will help if I can. Steve

On this day of thanks, I'd just like to publicly thank you guys for your sacrifice. I came from a military family, never served myself (I believe to be one of the biggest mistakes I've ever made), and have always had ultimate personal respect for those who put it on the line so I could sit around and piss and moan about how our country could be better. Whatever the political and/or personal differences, the character is unquestionable.

IMO, every day should be "Veterans Day."

take care and ride safe

Mr. Deluxe, from me, thanks for the kind words but in the 60's and early 70's most vets didn't have much of a choice. If you were not in school you went where ever Uncle Sam said you were going to go. Now many vets from that era are sick. I like many, did not know I was entitled to benefits and didn't care. But as time went by and things got worse I found out how things work. I do not have the effects of agent orange but many do. Now the V.A. admits 11 diseases are service-connected and benefits are due. Look at the guys coming back from Iraq. If ,as a vet, you don't come forward, you will be lost in the system. I never knew I was supposed to get a check every month until 20 years later. So, please if you are in need of help, don't be to bitter or proud to find out what is out there. Semper Fi
