Default Good-by California

My sons still in Calif. and tell me that the fish&game want to declare 1100 miles of coastline a preserve. No fishing of any kind whatsoever. In the late 60's to 80's I was a commercial fisherman in the same area and channel islands and have always fished. I don't know what they are thinking but there are less and less things you can do in that state. I left in the 90's and now they are too. We are all moving to some land we have some where away from all this madness. It's been fun but I have no choice, no respect and no honor, AMF

In California this year there was no salmon season for either commercial or sport fishing. Whether that fishery comes back or not is yet to be seen. A lot of fishermen went broke. Too much water going to the expanding residential developement and huge new plantings by agribusiness. Not enough fresh water in the rivers to support the traditional runs. Agribusiness and housing developement vs. commercial fishermen = fishermen lose. Sad.

Personally I doubt that proposed reserve may happen but not anywhere near what is actually proposed. It's an eco nazi pipe dream that has very little popular support when push comes to shove.
