I sent this to a friend whose opinion I respect, and his response was as
follows:
It's true, and if Obama gets elected you can expect to see Franklin Raines
as treasury secretary. He took $90,000,000.00 bonuses from Fannie Mae in 3
years and then retired before the downfall. He's one of Obamas' financial
advisors, and a big part of the trouble we are in right now.

The Democrat's Grand Socialist Scheme has Collapsed; Guess Who
Pays the Bill?
This financial crisis that threatens to destroy our way of life
was a grand socialist scheme implemented by the Democratic party during
the Clinton administration. The Clintons changed the rules of the
banking regulations (Community Reinvestment Act) to force the
banks/savings and loan institutions to make loans to unqualified
applicants(especially minorities). Any bank or loan institution that
failed to go along with this scheme to "push out" home loans to
minorities were investigated by the government, sued by the applicants
who were denied loans or bullied by ACORN or all of the above. They used
the GSEs (Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac) to buy up the faulty loans from
banks and savings&loans, repackaged them and sold them as investments to
hedge funds, other banks and investment banks.
The Major Players in this scheme are all Democrats and they
don't want the public to know what really happened. The Major Players
are Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton, Robert Rubin, Chris Dodd, Chuck
Schumer, Barack Obama, Barney Fr ank, and Barack Obama cronies Jim
Johnson, and Franklin Raines. The Dems., including Barack Obama blocked
a bill (S-190) in 2005 sponsored by John McCain and other Republicans.
The bill gave a regulator power to crack down, and would have required
Fannie and Freddie to eliminate their investments in risky assets. If
that bill had become law, then the world today would be different. In
2005, 2006 and 2007, a blizzard of terrible mortgage paper fluttered out
of the Fannie and Freddie clouds, burying many of our oldest and most
venerable institutions. Without their checkbooks keeping the market
liquid and buying up excess supply, the market would likely have not
existed.
The ticking time bomb's fuse was the $140/barrel oil and
$4.00/gallon oil. When high priced fuel hit the economy and people could
no longer pay their mortgages and real estate prices started to fall it
was inevitable that this house of cards would come crashin g down. The
Dems. have blocked drilling for oil in the waters off the US coast and
in Alaska for decades. When they came to power in 2006 the price of gas
was around $2.00/gal and Nancy Pelosi promised to lower gas prices. If
the country had a comprehensive energy policy that included drilling and
nuclear energy as President Bush tried to implement during his two terms
we wouldnt be paying $700Bil/year to terriorist states for oil.
Now the chickens have come home to roost and guess who gets to
pay the bill. The problem with Obama and the Dems. is that they are
socialists and too juvenile to govern. Voters need to look for adults to
run the country in these perilous times. The Dems. have wrecked the Ford
so why should the public give them the keys to the Mercedes?
However, if voters elect Democrats in November this will be
taken as validation that socialism works and the voters want more of it,
including socialized heal th care, income redistribution, higher taxes on
capital gains, resurrection of the death tax, repeal of the Bush tax
cuts etc. The economy will go down a black hole and voters will have
only themselves to blame. If the next administration does the wrong
things we will have a total economic collapse including the collapse of
pension funds and even social security and medicare.

Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you realize you're wrong.
On television today a Democratic operative pointed out that when Obama holds
a rally 25,000-30,000 people show up, whereas when McCain holds one he only
draws 10,000-15,000. The Republican spokesman replied, 'That's because
McCain's supporters are at work.'

Please join me in this prayer daily.
This is my Granddaughter Sky, age 7. Can't walk, talk, or feed herself but look at that smile. Anyone care to complain about their lot in life? Not me![IMG][/IMG]
Acorn has been around for a long time. They are proud of their voter registration efforts. Today they went too far even for Florida. While elections in this state have always required a second and third look today they broke the record. Investigators found voter registration forms where one person was registered more than 20 times. What took the cake was filing a voter registration form for Mickey Mouse.
They have been concentrating on Florida and Ohio but are operating throughout the country. Let me know when you feel good about this election. Our most precious right sold out.
You only have to research the campaign ads to wonder if the truth is lost on both sides. Voter fraud will rech epic proportions in this election. If Obama wins we can at least know he will do for the democrats what Bush did for the republicans. It coluld be time for a third party candidate to bring about real change. We can hope.
When my father retired after 36 years of civil service he bought the largest pool hall in town. I finished growing up around hustlers, hookers, and assorted criminals. He made sure I knew right from wrong. My uncle was the mayor of the same town. Many times I was told I should be proud of my dad and ashamed of my uncle. I am still proud of my father.
I was in Houston after Article 50 was passed. There were no "cash out" mortgages in Texas and the regulation was so well written that predatory lending never got off the ground. The regulation must have been written by a carney and a 9ball player. No lawyer was ever that smart.
My father traveled with the Barcoutz Carnival after his father died and there was a mortgage to pay. He left home at 13 and came back when he was 16 and could work in the shipyard. He taught me to respect a carney. I don`t play cards. I can`t stop dealing "seconds". He taught me to never make a game with a carney. Too tough.
I graduated from two pool halls and one college. Have always had to be careful which education was being employed.
After years in banking and finance I now turn a wrench. If I know where to put it and how many times to turn it I get paid. My idea of fair.
Being a cynic is just the natural result of watching people at their worst. We learned early and the rest are just catching up. The "sucker punch" is an art form. I learned to admire anything that was done well. Donald Trump is just a hustler working on a different scale. Wall St has many things to teach us. The basics of trust yourself first and always follow the money have not changed.
After Houston the shipyard was NNSY in Portsmouh, Va. My father seldom used the sucker punch. If you needed something he would give it to you. If you tried to take it you might find out what years of driving rivets had done to his right arm.
Street Bob is right but you are correct that there is a price to pay. Whether you are a Republican or Democrat just depends on which con you want to fall for. We listen and then place our bet (vote) on historical probability. No promise of future performance. Hell of a mess.
