I would like for you to make those same statements about the people that were flooded in Iowa this summer - How about Greenfiled Kansas that was leveled by a tornado - are they waiting on someone to come fix the problem - no....... how about Galveston with was wiped off the map. You don't see those folks waiting for someone to come and "fix" the problem - they are doing it themselves. I have good friends in Galveston that lost everything they owned- yet they are cleaning up the mess - hauling off the trash - finding people to start building -
The US was built by the people - the people need to fix the problem - in New Orleans - they are waiting for others to do the work - govenment is not equipped to handle this... they re elected a corrupt mayor - what do you expect?
The motto has always been - if you want something-work for it because no one is ever going to give you anything......
I couldn't agree more with your example of N.O. the mayor turned the buses away for evacuation before Katrina. The mayor is a horse of a different breed, he waited for that idiot Gov. to do something and she was and still is lost as a goose. It was reported that he bought a house in Houston because he thought his city was too far gone to rebuild, that's purely rumor though. The general populus of N.O. are quality folks there leadership sucks, as in any city most folks tend to do as they are asked to do. I think the FEDS played politics, the then Gov. was a Dem. where as now it is a Rep. better reaction. Face it N.O. is thought of as a partying town and when you are drunk you can't work. The folks in Gavelston, Iowa, Houston are thought of as hardworking folks therefore the different perception. Being from the Great state of La. it really ticks me off to see just the bad being reported from on folks down south and the media just focusing on N.O., and forgetting about the folks in the surrounding areas. There are a lot of quality folks there but, the ultra liberal media just pick up the trash like they always do and stress it instead of being fair and proper.

In most of my 61 years I've made sure to know who passes laws that inhibit my individual and Our rights and it's Always been the Left/Dems..
I won't bother to name each bills number or author over the many years because it's not necessary, heck, we wake each morning surrounded by the results.. This is what I've Clearly seen and it's un-arguable..
It is the Vast Majority of Democrats that raise our taxes-- income, payroll, property, sales, they want an internet sales tax and interstate catalog sales tax..They even want our money after we die..
That are against our 2nd amendment rights..
In favor of stringent and restrictive Environmental Regs and force us onto dyno-type smog machines and deny us registration for failure..
Prevent us from legally modifying OUR OWN vehicles as though they didn't even belong to us..
Prevented Nuclear power and drilling for our own oil..
The endangered species act prevents building of homes and business in favor of some obscure worm or fly and farmers from irrigating fields in favor of fish..
They inhibit our personal rights by prohibiting smoking in Our Privately Owned businesses..
Mandatory seat-belt laws..
Mandatory helmet laws..
How about reverse descrimination, Affimative action,, not even voted upon, signed into law by Johnson in 1965 by Executive Order..

There has never been such a whole sale shredding of of personal liberties and freedoms in our history as has happened with the current administration. Not since Lincolns trampling of States Rights in the war of Northern Aggression anyway. The next closest example might be the war on drugs that Ronnie and Nancy spoke about while trading coke for guns. I think that these were all "conservatives" and "republicans" that did this...see, that is just a dose of your own medicine. Funny? Well guess what? There were "liberals" and "democrats" that were in power in Congress when all of these things happened too.
And then there was Mr. Read My Lips...had he not had the sense to raise taxes Ronnie's economics would have run us to the poor house. It finally took Bill Clinton to straighten out the mess...but wait...he had a "Republican" Congress so we can give them the "credit" for that...right?

I was about half paying attention to some talking heads on TV a couple of week-ends ago. I noticed that the interview was with Al Gore so my ears perked up a little.
The interviewer was asking if he would accept an "Energy Czar" position in a new administration. Al said he was not so much interested in politics anymore since he had been ELECTED PRESIDENT. He said it with a dead-pan straight face. Cut right to the quick and left the interviewer speechless for a moment.
Another inconvenient fact that I am sure will be written out of the history books.
