John 1:14

It is the duty of nations, as well as of men, to own their dependence upon the overruling power of God, to confess their sins and transgressions, in humble sorrow, yet with assured hope that genuine repentance will lead to mercy and pardon; and to recognize the sublime truth announced in the Holy Scriptures and proven by all history, that those nations only are blessed whose God is the LORD.

Seriously though... High protien/carb snacks to keep your energy up. Nuts and jerky are great. Camelback, if you got one. If you don't, they aren't that expensive anymore. Clear and/or amber lenses for riding in the rain...

Hmmmm... I'm sure I'll think of somethin' else later.

Well after 13 hours in the saddle I made it to my destination. Man what an awesome experience. Because of the ride and time constraints I didn't get to "enjoy" the ride, but I enjoyed it. Mississippi and Arkansas have some beautiful country side. My butt and back are alright, but my right knee (which I've had problems with for years) was giving me horrible problems. I got a big ol straw and sucked it up and kept pushing. I only stopped two extra times (besides gas stops) to stretch out. Thanks for the input and advice everyone!

Great. Glad to see you had no problems. Hope the family is doing well. Be careful on the return trip.

The family was great. It was awesome to see them. I am now back in Miss, but the scoot is currently residing still in Arkansas...kind of a blessing in disguise for a couple of reasons. Once I hit Fayetteville, AR it started to rain and rained all the way to Jackson, MS. Second reason being my insurance dropped me today, becuase they only write policies for 4 states and Arkansas or Miss. isn't one of them. The only reason I didn't ride back to begin with is because momma (the wife) took pity on me and my old truck, so on Saturday morning she took me out and let me buy a new cage. I didn't have ramps or straps or a decent hill to back up to, so I left it sitting in my grandmother-in-laws garage until I get back up there with either a ramp or my trailer. It all worked out to a degree.

Glad you had a great trip! Just getting on the bike and going and going seems to give you that feeling of being a nomad, doesn't it?

Sounds like you had an "excellent adventure"..and I'm glad things seem to be coming-together for you and yours.

Hammerhead- It does in a sense. It's an awesome feeling. People were pretty respectful on the road, too. I was kind of impressed. I have one of those face wraps (the bandana style one) that's a skull from the nose down and was wearing it, these chicks in their cage came flying past me and then get in front of me and slow down. I thought what in the hell are they doing....then I see the cameras come out, so I waved real big. Just flying down the road, you and nature and noting between you was the best feeling ever. I can't to do it again.

evo- The knee thing was horrible. I'm just going to swallow some motrin next time and keep a bottle in my jacket pocket to eat on the way. That should help.

UFB..forget the Motrin..get a Morphine drip going.
Nawgh..just kidding again..but trust ME on this..Aleve works better than Motrin..for ME anyhow
Got the Rx stuff (Naproxen) from VA hosp..handed out like candy..when you turn down the hard (narc) stuff.
Meanwhile..don't lose the skull mask I've seen your face !!!

A big "me too" on the Aleve. Thats the only one that works for me. After a few long trips my body adapts and hurts a little less each time.

Sounds like you got the bug for road trips now. I know I do!
