Mine comes from my days of fixing Cats for a living. No not nuetering kitty cats, repairing heavy equipment! D8's, D9's, scrapers, excavators, etc. Spent 15 yrs turning wrenches on the stuff & got using the screen name so I stuck with it. Went to running cranes for a living about 4 yrs ago (lot easier & more interesting). The crane I run has a Cat engine & I do most of the repairs to it so I guess technically I'm still a Catmechanic!

My first Harley was the Night Train, which I still have. A year ago I added an Electra Glide to the garage. Merged the two together and got NightGlide, because, well, ElectraTrain made absolutely NO sense at all.

worked my younger days for Bushhog. i was a set up man in fabrication. and learned about all aspects of the fab and machining and welding trade. but the continual punching and shearing of the steel plates and bars. and throwing the parts in steel stack boxes. just about destroyed my hearing. i have 40% in my righr ear and 60% in my left. so being hard of hearing i Likemlouder

The "1" is because there is only one of me. The first four letters are the first four letters in my last name. The "ster" is from Sportster, my first bike, and the 1340 is from my 80 inch Shovel.

It's a metaphysical thing.

My screen name I have used since my hubby and I have been together. When we first met he asked me how many people I have slept with, and of course, I asked him. And the number at the end of harley is the number 2936
which is the number of people we both were with. Guess what numbers is my total!

I'll say you are 2, and he's probably 936.

I'm staying out of this one...

the history of nicknames and screen names can be interesting, and revealing?
