Default I'll be in and out....

To my fellow mod's, friends and members on here: The hard drive in my computer decided to take a dump on me the other day, so for the time being I'm without a computer and will get on here when time at work allows me to.

Until then be easy and ride safe!

The Gunny

Bummer, Gunny, it takes so little to upset these computers at times. Visit us as often as you can, hopefully you can get a new hard drive in there soon.

UFB:
Did you try the Disk Repair utilities (I don't know your specific computer make)? In a lot of cases the main directory is just screwed up, and something like Norton Utilities, Tech Tool, Disk Warrior, or Disk Repair can sometimes fix it for you. Otherwise it is either reformat the old hard drive, and try again to reload everything (do you have backups?), or add a new hard drive. You can get new hard drives with a lot of storage on them for not a lot of cash. Just check with the people who made your computer to see if there are size or technical limitations on the hard drive. You can probably put that beauty in by yourself - just Google something like "Replace Hard Drive", and you should get plenty of helpful tips.

Since you are a moderator, perhaps we can fit you out with a new 50TB Megatron Optimus Prime with 42 inch High-Def screen, a Wii playing system, and full suite of computer programs to handle every eventuality. It is the least we can do, and we always do the least we can

Yeah, the last time I listened to a recruiter was just before the 4th of July, 1968. He said show up for OCS on the 5th of July instead of the 3rd of July like my orders said. I showed up late, and the drill sergeants processing me in insisted on putting me into basic training instead. I eventually got it all worked out, but it was scary for a while (I was watching the basic training guys in San Antonio working out in mid-summer in full camouflage gear, boots and carrying rifles while the officer candidates were milling about in gym shorts, t-shirts and sneakers).

Then, while in OCS, everytime I got in a line to be process for something, I would have to work my way to the end, then find out I had to go get in another long line because they didn't have any records on me. After I while I would just say "Screw that" to myself and skip going to the second line. It didn't seem to mess me up as far as I know, and I even got sent to live in the female candidates' barracks .

Mine was actually pretty honest. He promised me 3 hots and a cot and all the trouble I could handle. Everything above that was gravy.

I think the computer is toast. I had my IT's at work take a look at it and they told it was either the connector to the the hard drive or the hard drive itself is done. No big loss except for the fact that the comp. is less than a year old, and this is my 3rd one of the same model in that year's time frame. The first two crashed right out of the box. The store would only do a one for one on it, so I was pretty much stuck. The up side is my renter's insurance covers computers so I now I just need to get off my butt and call to start a claim.

Good to see everyone....Mike if you need my mailing address for that set up you offered above let me know, you can keep the Wii; I have one and that's enough
