I am all for clean air, if not for our own sake, our children and theirs. Can not argue that.
However, the little guys bear the brunt once again. The Government (EPA) recently accelerated a "phased" discontinuance of "thinner based" products in my state and others. A phase that was in place since around 2005 and was to take 5 or so more years. Overnight they kill a product(s), overnight they force entire industry's to retool, re-think and rework existing procedures.
May sound trivial but my living was negatively effected. The details I will spare.
I will say again that clean air is important, however, I believe there are much bigger fish to fry - first. Real big fish that seem to stay off the grill. Meanwhile, my arse has charcoal stripes.
I hear ya Twin Peaks. Not looking good down the road. Getting more and more like a commie country. Big gov sticking there nose in everything and telling us whats good for us. Meanwhile the hard working middle class is taking a beating once again. I feel bad for our kids in the near future. Then again alot of the "new" voters voted for the current regime. I hope they see the error of their ways. Botz

Do a search on Al Gore and see how much gas and electricity he uses compared to the other people in his state. Remember Al Gore wants you to go green but he will never go green. You know,,, twin just pointed out (without knowing it) why I for one, has alway said that the Bush admin was NOT our friend but just the lesser of 2 evils,, and that is why I had to vote for him twice..
The fact that the hussein admin just speeded it up shows the terrible mistake that 52% of Americans made..
Just imagine where we would be now if Gore or Kerry had won---- my guess is we would be 8 OR 4 years closer to a TOTAL and complete Totalitarian Dictatorship engineered by the Communist Democrats of our nation..
Heck----- mighta even been completed by now..
And also just imagine how well off we'd be if Newt Gingrich or some other Real Conservative was Prez.. One can dream.......!!!!!

Must agree with ya Frisco, that clean air stuff is very important. The Dems need to (but never will) listen to the people and quit doing the direct opposite of what is good for this country. Between the huge bailouts and the direct infringement of our rights I feel there is no time to waste in taking our country back to the middle. Just how to do it is the only problem that is being faced now. With the voting system in place there needs to be a massive turnout in 18 months to curb the Congress' control and get the Republicans back in control if for nothing else than to balance the teeter totter. The media needs to be more objective in broadcasting the news HA HA. It's sad when you turn on the Clinton News Network and they are more concerned about a dog stuck on some debris floating in a river than the legit troubles with the nation, and that is the BREAKING NEWS for the time! Just my observations lately.
Frisco, no political debate was intended but again, I must place the blame on Bush's EPA. This was quickly mandated on his way out for whatever reason. Note original post states changes in effect 1/1/09 which means it was "paid for" in 08. The "new guy" wasn't even sworn in yet.

He evidently kept us safe for 8 years and didn't intrude on our 2nd amendment rights or any other rights that affected normal law-abiding Americans,,, and the alternative woulda been waaaay worse, so I gotta stand by my belief that he was just and only a wee better than his opponents..
