30 years in the construction industry and will never cease to be amazed at the total disregard for the orange barrels and the people that work behind them. Even in residential areas people just ignore the yellow tape or barricades of any kind. They walk under the tape, around the barrels and thru fresh concrete, fresh asphalt & sealer, 8' holes, ditches and whatever else is in THEIR way. They are important and how dare we detour them.

Is it stupidity, arrogance, ignorance, self importance?

I know it's damn disrespectful to another man's work, disrespectful to his living, also disrespectful to the actual home or business owner as well, not to mention dangerous. They would be the loudest whiners when someone focked up their ****. And when $hit does happen - the a$$holes want to sue!

I'm ranting and if this offends anyone...........there's an old saying about a shoe and it's fit!

Stupidity

Just last week, we had a 20 ton generator up in the air, crane lifting it into place... some idiot drove between the cones and right under the generator.....

I just said "drop it on the idiot" and looked up. the idiot also looked up, got it in gear and moved.....

2 days later I had the bright orange vest on..hard hat, and hand held stop sign so we could move equipment out in the street... so stupid broad gunned it to get around me as I stepped towartds her to maybe accidentally knock off her mirror....

people can just be stupid.

or just think thier life is soooo important they dont have the time for things us in thier way.

I agree with your observations and also question the idiots in cages who do not signal lane changes or turns (to busy talking on their cell or texting), run red lights, speed or just act stupid in traffic. My theory is that these individuals have purchased an EBM license (Everybody But Me!). This allowes them to break any and every law they wish and curse you when you get in their way. Anybody know where you get the EBM license?
