Twinpeaks, these guys sound like a bunch of idiots...they probably go around asking riders if the have the bike to go with the shirt, too, just to challenge them...

I am sure you know that there are always bad apples, but what I find, and dwell on when I come across some knuckleheads like these, is that there are many more good, kind, and caring people, than there are jerks like these guys. It sounds like you handled the situation well.
