Red face Sign of the times

Bad economy

Both increase in thefts and crunch on hotel numbers...

Inventory shrinkage (theft) is one of the largest expenses a business can experience...and (example) hotel/motel customers should realize they're just renting amenities...not buying them.

As for the staff not noticing the larger items going out the door ??
"Ha"...around here entire chains of stores etc have left the city... partially because all too many locals have gotten so good at shop-lifting they could just about walk in naked and walk out hiding something.

Theft by customers is only the tip of the iceberg, theft by employees is equal or more problematic.
You can almost (I say almost) sympathize with people who are working for minimum wage and just scraping by but the root of the problem from what I have observed is evil hearts wanting something for nothing.
