Cool Proud to be an American. Felt ten feet tall

Now I aint a native born Texan, in fact I'm here via jolly old England, but.....
I was just pumping some gas in the FLSTN and a strange bike pulls up next to me.John Wayne about 50 yrs ago unfolds hisself from this monstrous machine. The kid's about 21 and 6'7"-250#, at least. I'm 5'8" with my boots on and around 150#. "Evenin' Sir," he says. I reply"Howdy son, what the hell is that your ridin'." "It's a Honda blah blah somethin 1800. It's my first bike, and all I could afford. I really wan't a Harley, but just outside my price range. I am a preety big fella so could you give me some advice?"
"Well now son." says I, and we were away on a long discussion on the pros and cons.
You could have knocked me down with a feather. Who said the young uns aint got any respect? I pulled away from that gas station feeling all patriotic. How about that

That's right, humpbackbob. There really are some nice respectful kids around. The media just doesn't give as much attention to what is going right with the world.

Wow! This says a lot about you! First of all, it never happened... and the fact that you would make this up is downright pathetic!!!

Floodgate,
You make brash statements that you cannot substantiate with verifiable facts, to wit “VTX has more American content than HD”. You insult other forum members in the obvious hope of eliciting an angry response. When more mature members of the forum attempt to engage you in logical conversation and even compliment you on your VTX, your reply is acerbic. The symptoms of trollism abound!

Please do continue in your delusional belief that what you say is of any consequence to others. I, for one, am applying the time honored cure for a troll and will ignore you. Have a Happy Thanksgiving.

I should be pretty damn annoyed at being called a liar. I would prefer it being done to my face but I understand the bravery of some people when the luxury of anonimty is afforded.
However, I am more than ever convinced that this Floodgates person is, for some reason strangely afflicted with a desire to insult folks that he has never met. I feel sorry for you Floodgates. You are a sorry excuse for a human.
Oh, by the way, the incident (which occured long before Floodgates came on the scene) with the young Fella I met at tha Gas Station, with his Honda has become a friend of mine since, and we ride every once in a while He still has his Honda, so please don't judge evryone by their ride.

Call me what you want (and internet bravery doesn't impress me one bit!) but both you and I know, that you made that story up! The notion, that someone would only buy a VTX, because they couldn't afford an HD, is intented to make you feel better about paying twice as much, for a bike half as good! I (like many I know on the 30,000+ member board I belong to) bought a VTX because it was a superior machine at a better price... end of story!
