I tend agree with Joe. The OCC crew worked hard to get where they are. And yes, they had a stroke of luck that turned into something almost otherworldly. But I'll tell you this: Every time I've gone up to their headquarters (admittedly to do a story) they've have all been cool as hell and generous with their time, considering how little of they actually have to themselves.

Call me brown-nosing idiot if you must, but that's where you'd be wrong.

I also agree with Joe about hammers, or rubber mallets. What's a garage without them?

They have a dealer in Ft. Lauderdale (Bourget) but I have yet to see a OCC bike there...Of course I don't go there very often - way out of my price range - I do like the Bourget trike or should it be called a 4 wheeler?

Watch any of the bike building shows and everybody is hammering something together that doesn't fit just right. Hell, I've had to do it with anything I've owned that came out of a factory. Who hasn't? I do get a bit irked when I hear one of them say somethig like, "Let them (the buyer) worry about it later."

Some people will buy a bike just because of the "pedigree" of the brand. I just helped out a guy whose $60K Pitbull shopper was sidelined because of their $2 wiring harness and the $.02 wiring job done by what I can only think to be a brain damage monkey with turrettes and ADD.

If OCC bikes were really that bad no one would be buying them.

I seem to remember that not too long ago OCC won the "Production Bike of the Year" award. I don't think they'd have gotten that award if they built junk, rubber mallet adjustments or not.

And in response to an earlier comment about Senior's "Greenie" bike, I definitely see a $28K ride there. In fact, I think it's one of the best looking bikes I've seen in a long time.

Every motorcycle builder starts with the Harley-Davidson style motorcycle. PERIOD. Why? Because Harleys are the motorcycle that set the standard.
OCC hasn't done anything that has been industry shattering or even industry setting.
Harley's are sold from $10,000.00 up to $30,000.00 for the new trike.
More if you care to spend it.
There is nothing in the OCC lineup worth more than $20,000.00.
I don't think that they have anything more special than what a guy in his gargage can build.
They are a cartoon family that people on tv want to watch just to see the arguments and wrench throwing, all B.S. for the most part.
Can they build anything better than this..... and its just a Harley?

I admire them for being self made, but the SR Cruiser is just a bolt together bike with Corbin saddle bags. Thought they would have at least designed something one off and then copied it.

This thread was fun to read.

I still havent seen an OCC bike in person. The TV show is enterainment to me.

Jesse James and crew parked next to us In sacramento a couple years ago.... at the Easy Rider Show. Those bikes he and his crowd had were pretty nice bikes.

Hammers: ok for pistons....axles....shaping metal

Not ok for headlights....gas tanks......chrome

ha ha ha....

Having worked at OCC for a couple of years I have firsthand knowledge of the operation. When I first started there I was appalled at the crudeness of the bikes being built, but by the time I left they had made serious strides toward producing a better product.I feel they are still overpriced, but I have no plans to purchase one anyway,so more power to 'em if they can find buyers.

Ace.........what did you do at OCC?
Were you on the show at all?
Everytime I saw them attack a problem with either a fit issue or making a piece from scratch..it was not a quality product. They have since gott'n cnc equipement and other computerized controls, but the mentallity still seems to be...get er' done, at any cost or measure. Period.
