I was a behind the scenes worker, fixing things that were over the head of the cast.I ended up on tv three or four times, not really my thing.

How many have actually seen or sat on a OCC bike? Garbage. I could do better with a cresent wrench, plumbers wrench and a J&P cycles catalog. I might take one if you paid me.

I saw some of their show bikes, Black widow, Fighter Bike, etc at Rolling Thinder a few years back, before I started riding again.

Saw them go by following a film crew.

Saw them later stopped by the road trying to get one of them runnig.

More power to them, they're living the American Dream. But not on my nickel.

And finally, I met Jesse James at Daytona, I was there for a conference the week before Bike Week and everyone was setting up. He was way down the road, a couple of bikes, a tent, etc.

He was unknown, at least to me, and a cool guy to talk to.

Yeah my statement is more angled towards their production bikes. Junk. But it don't surprise me to hear that about even their show bikes.

JJ is a more "normal" type of guy. He has a love/hate relationship with his fame. Knows it gets him paid and thats probably the only reason why he does it. It pays for him to do all the other crazy **** he does...

I haven't seen the production line of bikes they are selling. I would think that they are built from stacks of boxes full of aftermarket bolt togeathers and sold under the OCC trade mark. I mean what else could they be?
As far as thier claim to fame, they are a reality TV show. Just like all the rest thats out there. Just like all the rest, thier shows are scripted for drama and confrontation. Theirs just happens to be about some folks that build one off theme bikes. Does that mean the quality or craftsmanship is superior to others riding the wave? No,...The wealth is all in the marketing of the show itself. Hell,..They sell millions of dollars just in T shirts every year.

Who here has, rides and ownes a OCC production bike that can give us more than opinions and veiws from afar???

Let me hear what they are like to ride and own.

Seems a number of folks have things to say about the Tuttles without knowing them or their bikes.

I give em a tip of the hat for doing what they like and becoming successful at it.

As far as knowing them or their product I have no clue except for what I had seen on TV a few years back and the book I read......From those I can base no opinion.

First of all they didn't start with nothing. Sr had his own business for years and made a decent living. It may be nothing compared to what he's making now and I will never begrudge him for it. Also luck was on his side because they weren't even the first choice for the show. Can't remember their first choice off hand but I do know for a fact that he wasn't the first. When the show first began they were doing much same thing as we would do in our own garages. Alot of trial and error and hand fabrication. It would take three or four episodes to build one bike and that was without all of the hype. Today it's soap opera meets reality. It's no longer about the bikes. One bike one show and all I see is them putting bikes together with a bunch of catalog parts for the most part. Do I still watch yes/no. I'll put it on to see if maybe just maybe they'll go back to their roots. No luck. 5 minutes and off it goes. Do I think their bikes are worth the price of admission? No! Been at their new place and have seen the production bikes first hand. Sorry but as far as the show is concerned the bikes are now an afterthought. Speaking of overpriced bikes! Go to indianmotorcyclesofne.com. I hope you can control your gag reflexes and these prices exclude taxes, reg, title, shipping etc. etc.

I've seen one of the OCC bikes at the local bike night. It was the National Guard bike and to me it was a nice looking, well made bike. Better than I could build. Would I want to own it? No. Too raked out and custom made for my tastes. I do like the greenie bike they build. It has the old school look that I like. Would I pay that much for a bike? Hell No. lol.

I agree that the show used to be much better than it is now. These days it is all about the fights and bitching. That's too bad because that is what ruins it for me. I like the bike build and to see what Jr. and Rick come up with. The show this year sucks. It is almost nerve wracking to watch because of the bad feelings they all have for eachother. Not what I want to see. If I wanted to see people hate eachother I would watch the news. lol

I liked watching Jessie James build bikes in the old days and the old biker build offs were good. Wish they would bring them back. I just like watching anything to do with motorcycles especially durning the winter when I can't ride. That way I get a bit of a fix on riding when I can't.

I even watch my old Easyrider magazine Videos from years ago along with every biker movie I own. Winters seem to go a little better when I can have some biker stuff to watch. OCC fills that bill for me these days too.

Interesting forum.

I've only built 2 frame up bikes in my life. I don't think I've seen anything on OCC TV that I probably haven't done myself. Hammers and all. And I think the bikes I built were A-OK. I don't think their junk at all. Most hand built items have the flaws and imperfections of it's builder. That's what makes the unique. If you want mass production and near perfection, go by a Honda.

As far as worth. If they were only worth $20k, that would be all they could sell them for. They are selling for double that price. That makes them worth double that price. That's kind of Economics 101.

I agree that they made some decent bikes. But they were not worth what they were asking for them. They were riding on that TV wave and sucked it for all it was worth. Good for them. (I would rather spend the money on a CVO than with an OCC) I lost respect for them when they started destroying stuff just because they wanted and could afford to. They are ham-handed. They hammer, tweak and bend parts into alignment. And for God sake! They use cresent wrenches on these 60K bikes! If a cresent is all you got then OK. But professionally trained technicians tend to stay away from adjustable anythings... I want a bike that I can ride and not have it go 20 miles before it runs out of gas. For the most part they don't look rideable. Now if they put a V-Rod engine in an Ultra, then I would be impressed.
