Default Big Dog Chopper

I picked up a Big Dog chopper today in Chicago and AIM's Terry O'Brien picked up the new Big Bear Chopper Bagger in Chicago. Just before we left for our five hour ride to LaCrosse, Wi to be part of the S&S 50th anniversary party a couple of old guys in a car slowed down and wanted to know if we were riding OCC choppers. Duh!

We both wanted to ride S&S powered bikes to the S&S deal.

After putting a few hundred miles on the Big Dog from Chicago to LaCrosse I can say it's a solid bike that gets LOTS of attention, but I just can't get used to the long front end and 300 series rear tire.

More details to follow.

Hasn't their bikes been pretty solid from the begining. I dont remember hearing alot about problems with their line ups. Maybe I was wrong. Good to see they are still puttin them out.

Yeah I dunno about the 300 in back and the leggs out front. Somthing you would have to aquire a taste for.

I saw the Big Bear bagger in Myrtle Beach, there isn't much space in the one bag over the pipes, but if you're riding that kind of bike I guess you shouldn't expect it.

I put another hunderd miles or so on the Big Dog chopper today riding around the area here in LaCrosse WI and over the Mississippi river into Minnesota.

While I am getting more used to it, I must say it's still a lot of bike to throw around, especially with the large rear tire. But I am getting more used to it.

Default Wide Tires

I feel the same about the tires. I'm sure they do well straight up but I hate having to "press" a bike through a turn. I also don't care for the Standing Up while accelerating through a turn phenomenom. I have not experienced it but have plenty of buddies that have and most needed a fresh pair of underware when finshed. Have a great ride.

Sincerely,

(FAT)

I had a buddy that worked for a Big Dog dealership in 2006. He would bring home new Big Dogs for the night after they were assembled as a "shake down" run. I never put hundreds of miles on one, but I did ride a few for 20 or 30 miles at a pop. They were a cool "Bar Blaster", but Like you said they took some to get used to. I found slow turns and trying to back them around was a bit weird. But Hey, to each his own, They are definitely an attention getter and they have been around awhile!

I don't believe we need to "get used" to a bike to enjoy it. If a bike needs getting used to, then it's probably not the right bike for me.

I'm a Big Dog dealer out of Chicago and find most of there bikes to be very comfortable to drive. The bike that Buzz road is a softtail and with the right equipment it's more tha a bar hopper. I actually had a friend ride a chopper to Daytona with a group of baggers and he said he enjoyed the ride.
