Even with a $4k discount, you're still starting at over $20k for a single use bike. In todays tough economic times, people are not spending that kind of money on "luxury" items or expensive toys, just ask the MOCO. It will be interesting to see who survives in the near future

Thumbs down Re: Big Dog Motorcycle Cash Back Offers

i bought a bigdog chopper in 03. i would have give them 4000 to take it back. nobody wanted it. i wound up having to trade for an ironhorse which i did pay down 4000 so i could trade it. if you want a custom to keep they are ok. but be prepared to reach over and grab your ankles when you get ready to sell. after two years they are at 1/2 price.

People....PEOPLE.....Never buy a custom chopper, you will only get your money taken.
As was said, if you have to have a chopper, and plan to buy it, make sure its what you want to keep forever.
Build a chopper for less and you will have the pride that its "your" bike and YOU built it.

Yup.... same goes for BMC.... I bought mine in 2004 and got over 20k miles on it. My brother in law couldnt believe I would buy one when I obviously know how to build one, but I got caught up in the tv hype and just got away from a big payment that freed up enough money that I went and bought the thing and went riding..... now it sets while the wife and I go off on th Ultra Classic, and I owe waaaay more than it is worth..... but it has been a trouble free bike with loads of power, and I guess I will keep it forever... I dont want to borrow more money so I can sell it.... duh.....
