I watched OCC last night, first time in a long time, found the episode quite interesting.
They built a Electric chopper.
I did not care for the design, but really liked the concept.
They did not go much into the battery technology to busy talking about family problems.
OCC has got to be hurting in this economy, I can’t help but wonder if this is in there future, getting a grant from the US and developing green bikes?

I was thinking about that also last night as I watched it. What a shame if it is. But I know the Obamaites are chomping at the bits to make this a reality. 50 miles on a charge I think is what they estimated. Who rides only 50 miles. Heck it is 100 miles to anywhere from my house. I have never like LOUD pipes but I do like to be able to hear my bike! Like many, if not most of the scientist who are not out to make a buck on green economy, I do not buy into this Global Warming/Climate change BS. I agree with Sarah Palin. "Drill Baby Drill". Here is an interesting graph I pulled off Investors.com website. It is a graph from the "Congressional Research Service".

AHHH!!! You just ruined it for me. I was going to watch it tonight while the wife and youngest daughter were getting re-shoed, errr.... I mean getting their nails done. I also would think they are hurting as the chopper thing is over. Did you notice that they are now pimping the OCC band cd. I'd rather listen to nails on a chaulk board. Did you see last weeks episode where Senior and waste of air ( Mikey) were discussing his performance last year? He missed something like 67 days of work and was late some unreal amount of time. I guess I keep watching to see if Rick and that other guy come up with anything new. They've had their 15 minutes of fame, time to move on.
I didn't see much of the show, I can't see the show going too much longer.
I only watched it a little bit for the entertainment and not the bike building.
I couldn't understand why anybody would buy a bike from them if they're seen hammering on parts to fit every week. I would think with the big expansion they did moving into the new location in this economy must be killing them. I know every business owner I talk to is hurting. And Sgtcowboy I agree with you global warming I think is bs.

Re: OCC builds electric chopper
I watched that show. That bike turned out great. I thought it was funny when they kept shocking themselves. Then there was little problem of the tire running backwards. 100MPH... Wonder how much that thing weighs.
This episode is on the dvr and I will probably watch tonight or sat before riding. However, did anybody see Sr on Conan monday night I think?? He brought this bike to the show.
Cowboy, I actually like the concept of an electric bike, yes, you might not be in the target market but for someone like me it would be perfect as a second commuter bike.
My work is thirty five/forty miles round trip and ninety nine percent of the time would work perfect for me.
Yes it would sit on weekends or long trips, but if I had the funds, time, this would be my next project, converting a rolling Fatboy chassis to electric.
Yes I was poking fun at them getting funds to go into production, this is not what the program was intended to be for, it was for the development of new technology, not so the Tuttles could buy more Hummers to crash.

Steve, I am all for you building one if that is what YOU want. What bothers me is these knuckleheads wanting to tell me what I can and cannot buy, eat, drink or ride. Or using my tax dollars on bribes, I mean rebates so they can get their political agenda in place. One of my best-est friends just put solar panels on his house. But like the Obamacare debacle it does the job half a$$ and costs me more money. You see it will only run part of his electricity off of solar and the other is still coming from the electric company. It cost him over $50,000 initially, but don't worry because mine and your tax dollars are picking up half with Obamabribes, I mean rebates. With Obamacare they only cover part of these so called uninsured at what will be more than 2 trillion tax dollars. That's what bothers me about this, not that they made an electric bike. But they are using our money to enslave us and we sit idly by and let them do it. I know this thread was about Electric Bike that OCC Built but this is where all of this is leading. Sorry for the rant Steve. I will try to keep my politics in the political Section.
