Default New NEW Indians

Anyone hear anything more about the next generation of Indian motorcycles other than they are accepting deposits for the next generation of Indians?

Trouble is no one knows what the next generation of Indian will be. Must take a huge leap of faith to make a deposit on an unknown machine.

Default New Indian

I know of no new info on the new Indians. I spoke with John House sat. and he is building the Powerplus engines under the new name V-plus. 100 ci for reatil of $4200 . Pretty good price.. I have a pic of a Confederate Hellcat I built using a Powerplus 100 Indian engine, but the pic is too big for this forum.. And I don't know how to make it smaller.. Send me a email address to send it to.... The Indian sportbike that never was.. I always wanted a fast indian, just had to build it myself.. Stock PP100 79.3 hp at the rear wheel and 113 torque. Top speed 140mph...

Default Indian Updated Website

Buzz and all, the Indian website (www.indianmotorcycle.com) now has been significantly updated and promises the Chief as an '09 model in Fall of '08. They have a picture that I think looks great. As for the motor, it will be the 100-inch PowerPlus, but significantly changed/updated for reliability and emissions. I may consider an Indian down the road. Right now I'm riding an '04 Sportster 1200C, which has been a great first bike, and I've got an '08 Victory Kingpin on order. It will be nice to see Indian's return.

Only thing I know is that Indian was purchased by the same people that own Cris Craft boats. It looks like they put some people in charge that have been involved in the motorcycle industry. As far as putting money down on something that I haven't seen or know what it will cost, I'll pass at least for now.

I haven't heard anything...but await news! As a long time lover of the Indian style and owner of an '02 Chief I welcome a return of the marque; hopefully Stellican makes a successful go of it!

Why don't they call it the 2008 version Indian??? Model version 2008.1 etc - that way we can keep up with who and when they were made. I don't feel that calling something an Indian makes it like the version 1947.......It just isn't the same - it's a wanna be.
