Default Custom Trikes?

Curious what forum members and American Iron Magazine readers think of the new wave of custom trikes on the market. I remember when they were considered kind of lame, but now they seem to be getting more popular as they look and work better.

Buzz, I know this post is late but here are my thoughts on a trike.

Pre injury, I hated them. I made the stupid unwise comment to my wife and friends that I would NEVER be caught riding a trike.

Post injury- I have a 2004

Post injury- I have a 2004 sitting in the GARAGE for over a year. Yeah, I am considering a trike. My family does not let me live it down!!

If I do go the trike route, I think I will just have my RK converted, better financially I believe. When it is all said and done, finances decide what you ride and when you ride.

Really am enjoying the sight.

Because of physical disabilities I am considering a trike. My wife would like to wait awhile, but one may be in the future. Probably will convert my Ultra.

They seem fancy. Nice and cushi. Like a Car! Not the same as riding on 2 wheels. I would get one if I was unable to ride on 2 due to a injury or disibility. Though I would get a side car first. They just dont have the flexability like a bike. The last few years I go on a June run with a group of riders. All makes and models ages. 3 trikes in the bunch. The riders have fun on them put they seem to take up the rear. Need bigger openings when passing, slower on the corners. It does give you a smile when you think you lost em and you see up coming up in the mirror.

Sure would be nice in heavy traffic. Sit back. Put up yer feet. Turn up the tunes

John 1:14

It is the duty of nations, as well as of men, to own their dependence upon the overruling power of God, to confess their sins and transgressions, in humble sorrow, yet with assured hope that genuine repentance will lead to mercy and pardon; and to recognize the sublime truth announced in the Holy Scriptures and proven by all history, that those nations only are blessed whose God is the LORD.

Default Exile Trike

If i ever build a trike which I would like to attempt it would have to look something like this. I dunno....I just like it. Black and very clean. Sorry FRISCO, no cooler on this one. I know where your coming from though. Would have to make a few mods to keep the beverages frosty. I would still have to have the 2 wheelers too.

I saw trikes on American Thunder last night with Independent suspension. They allow you to lean into corners. They looked cool. If it reached a point where I couldn't manage two wheels this type trike would be an option for sure. Armyguy41....I hope and pray you fully recover but this could be a pretty neat alternative for you and allow you to hit the road in style and comfort! hee-haw. Throw it on down theroad!
