Cool Oklahoma

I ride an 08' Softail Heritage Classic I bought from Ft. Thunder Harley in Moore, Oklahoma.
Oklahoma is perfect for a lot of riding! Well unless like today there are tornados around. Yep the warning sirens are going off as I type. Ain't it fun?
I have been planning my summer ride, I'm a member of the Patriot Guard and I'm riding to Ogden, Utah in July for the Gathering of the Guard national rally. Then it's on to Sturgis. That is gonna be some trip. Tent camin all the way too!

Well ya'll have a great day and if I don't get blown away by this tornado I might just see ya'll down the road!!!

Welcome to the forum and make sure to take a lot of pictures on your trip and share with us. My sister lives in Fort Smith, Arkansas and I agree you have some nice area to ride in. Now if I can just make it out there with the bike to visit her

Welcome to the forum, CherokeeGhostRider. I live just a little South of Kansas City, in tornado alley as well.
It's 70 degrees today, I figured the sudden warm up would trigger some tornados somewhere. I'll say a prayer for the safety of you and your family.

Welcome from California.

When I lived in KC Missouri, there was a "tornado watch" and the winds were fairly steady.
(I was only 12 at the time, and on a military base)
So I fashioned up a parachute from some duct tape, rope and clear plastic visquine and tied half the lines to the handlebars of my bicycle and held the other half in my hand for control. then I went down the hill into the wind, turned around and let the parachute drag me back up the hill....real fast! the MP's were there to meet me at the top. The "tornado watch" had turned into a "Tornado Warning"...the tornado had been sighted and everyone but me was in thier basements where they belonged! and of course the MP.....

Good luck with your tornado, maybe it will fizzle out before she causes damage.

Hay ShovelMike,

I just realized you mentioned you are just south of KC.... my parachute on the bicycle stunt during the tornado watch was in,....what is now Belton. I went to High School there, we were on the Air Force Base. It is now de-commisioned and not a base any more.

I heard the news this morning that there was a bit of damage and some people lost in a tornado in Oklahoma last night. not good. Hope you and your family are all safe and sound.
