Default I Rode My 1931 Indian To Work

OK, I'll start things off with this photo of my 1931 Indian Scout 101 that I rode to work today for the annual Ride To Work Day.

I got a lot of odd looks on the road as I rode the roughly 15-20 miles from my house to the office at 8 this morning on this old machine. Now I still have to ride it home in rush hour traffic this afternoon.

The bike is my hot rodded 1931 Indian Scout 101. It is a 45 inch engine with three-speed hand shifter and foot clutch. Runs pretty good once the engine is properly warmed up.

Who else rode to work today?

Default Too Lazy

I'm retired. I was too lazy to go get a job just for this event so I settled for taking the little wife for a ride to Louisburg Cider Mill about 35 mi. round trip over into KU territory. A real nice little ride, cold cider. Also picked up a couple of jars of salsa from their store, when my taste buds get bored I like to singe them with a new variety from time to time. P.S The Scout is looking good!

Same here. It's hard getting a shot of yourself.

I rode my Wide Glide. Of course I ride to work every chance I get. The ride in is ususally pretty good but it gets a little toasty in Houston on the way home especially in traffic waiting on the light to change.

I did not see as many bikes as I do on normal days. I normally avoid days where we are supposed to get rain or if the temperature is under 35 or so. On this day it was neither of those things but it was a warm 99 going home with a heat index of 108.

Thanks. It is a great ride that I had been looking for over many years. Finally got it, sorted it out and now enjoy riding it when I can.

As a matter of fact I rode this old Indian 101 Scout about a month ago and split the fuel line. Just fixed it and a small leak in the bottom of the fuel tank and put it all back together this week. Hope to ride it up to the Rhinebeck AMCA event next month.

Once again, I am green with envy. One day I'll get there too.
