Default DIY Exhausts

Anyone here ever try to make your own exhaust pipes?

I've cut some down and bolted on different mufflers but have never tried to make my own from scratch.

Any pointers?

Hey Jay

BB --- Whatta woman huh..

I've cut em up and re-welded them for length or curve or etc etc..

All you gotta start with is the correct header flange and go from there..

If you can weld, cool, if you have an exhaust pipe bender, even cooler..!

If your welds aren't perfect, worry not,, you can get exhaust pipe weld-on splice/connectors at AutoZone, Checkers, etc etc.. Cut the pipe to desired length then slip on and weld the connector to one end, then slip the other pipe end in the connector, aim the pipe properly, tack-it good, then install it.. If it's correct, weld the connecter 100%..
Or use the next size up pipe, in-other-words,, if your pipe is 1.75" OD,, use short lengths of 1.75" ID pipe to slip your pipe ends into, then weld..
I prefer that way..
You can buy all that stuff at those Auto parts stores..

I gotta confess, I have little concern for aesthetics so, I use slip-over connectors rather than take my time to do a perfect end-to-end Pretty weld..

Have a ball

I do end to end welds on my exhaust systems. No meaning to do half measures.....

actually, if you want a unique exhaust, you have to do it yourself...
