Default Custom Paint

Hi, I'm in the middle of building a custom bagger. It is on a Rolling Thunder 200mm wide tire frame. The bike is going to black and chrome except for the gas tank. I wanted a nice emblem that was reflective of my Navy career. The tank is from RWD and is a 6 gallon unit. The new tank had rouh welds and required molding to fit the seat properly. After weeks and talking and emailing to numerous painters I settled on Jim Munroe up in Rhode Island (I'm in northern VA). The customer service and communications was GREAT. He communicated with me on every step of the design, prep, and art work. I couldn't be more pleased the tank. It is awesome! The finish is near perfect. NO orange peel at all. This is as good a job as I've ever seen.

That's a great looking tank! I'd like to see more photos when your bike is completed.

That tank looks great Gunnert. Congratulations on your retirement. I spent about the same time span at Ford, 72-04 in an assy. plant- Truck trim line. Post some pics when the bike is done. Sincerely: Shovelmike.

Here is the front-end, Brembo calipers and rotors, traxxion forks, 18" wheel, 140mm tire, etc. I'm waiting on the transmission from Baker (DD6). Otherwise, the bike is ready to go to be finished.

I do like the tank. In fact, I even think I said so when I saw it on another forum. LOL Looks great, and I can't wait to see the finished set up.

That is a great looking paint job. Here are some pics of my 94 Sporty paint. It was done in the DFW area but not sure about the artist. I call her my Dark Obsession
