Winter’s icy grip will soon loosen and spring riding, rallies and adventure will be on the minds of enthusiasts from coast to coast. Harley-Davidson is ready for riding season with a collection of performance-specific men’s and women’s footwear built for the open road.
Whether on the road daily or for weekend adventures, motorcycle enthusiasts have unique demands when it comes to performance footwear. Materials, durability and design are incredibly important parts of safety on the bike.
“Motorcycle riders require a higher level of protective features in their footwear to help keep them safe on the road,” said Amy Lovall, Wolverine’s product manager of the Harley-Davidson Footwear product line. “Each season we strive to create and innovate riding styles that blend performance, durability and design seamlessly. The Spring ’17 performance collection feature materials that provide enhanced durability with style elements that capture the motorcycle spirit.”
Performance standouts for spring include:
Built to withstand rough roads and riders that put their boots through the paces. The men’s Richfield is crafted with full-grain waterproof leather TecTuff abrasion-resistant overlays to improve durability in high-scuff areas. A lightweight and flexible Poron XRD liner on the ankle provides extreme impact protection, going rigid on impact to help protect from impact injuries. The 8 ½ inch lace-up also features a breathable Hydro-Guard waterproof membrane liner, allowing moisture out but never in to deliver dry feet for the duration of the ride. The Richfield features a Goodyear Welt construction, lightweight durable outsole and 3M reflective material to increase visibility in low-light conditions.
The Erica takes style and protection to new heights this season. The six-inch lace-up boot features a three-inch heel and a fashion-forward lacing system highlighted by silver studs. Not about to sacrifice style for comfort, the boot is crafted with waterproof full-grain leather and lined with a Hydro-Guard™ waterproof breathable membrane, allowing water vapor out while holding the elements at bay. A locking YKK zipper on the outside of the boot allows for easy on and off while a buckle snap closure finishes this must-have spring silhouette in style.
The Mansfield’s classic engineer silhouette is made modern with performance enhancements built for serious riders. Crafted from full-grain leather, the 9 ½ inch boot features a lightweight and flexible polyurethane midsole with rubber street side delivering excellent abrasion and oil resistance and superior slip protection. The midsole features ShockAbsorbers Twin Pad comfort technology that cushions the foot and absorbs shock with each step guaranteeing increased comfort for long days on the bike, while a YKK locking inside zipper provides ease of wear for the rider.
The refined silhouette of the woman’s Bradbrook blends the best in H-D style with performance construction for women riders everywhere. Crafted from durable and supple full-grain leather, the mid-height lace-up style features an inside YKK locking zipper with Velcro closure to protect the bike from scratches. Two engineer style buckles with gold hardware adorn the boot’s upper, while a rubber outsole delivers abrasion and slip-resistant protection on the road. Available in both black and brown silhouettes.
Souring summer temperatures still call for foot protection on the road. Designed with maximum ventilation in mind, the Parkwood was constructed with breathable materials including mesh to allow air flow and providing better breathability for hot feet. The men’s six-inch lace-up also features a lightweight cement construction and an abrasion, oil and slip-resistant rubber outsole.
