The 2014 Motorcycle Cannonball event is a coast-to-coast route across the United States. The riders on pre-1937 motorcycles start the run in Daytona Beach, Florida on the worlds most famous beach. We finish the run after 4150 miles, on the Puget Sound in Tacoma, Washington.
The Motorcycle Cannonball Endurance Run will follow a southeast-to-northwest 4,100 mile transcontinental route starting in Daytona Beach, Florida, and ending 17 days later in Tacoma, Washington. More than 100 riders from around the world are expected to participate in the event, which is open to participants riding pre-1937 motorcycles. Riders will average upwards of 300 miles per day, spending more than eight hours each day on the road. The scenic route sticks mostly to America’s back roads and will include planned stops at a variety of motorcycle dealers, museums and other points of interest along the way. Four long time enthusiasts and good friends are joining forces to create the first ever Team American Iron specifically for the 2014 Motorcycle Cannonball ride. The team consists of four riders, two mechanics, and a support truck manager/driver.
The estimated 4,100-mile transcontinental ride is currently scheduled to start on the East Coast at the world-famous Daytona Beach in Florida. To the greatest extent possible, the ride will utilize non-Interstate roadways and will conclude on the West Coast 2 1/2 weeks later in Tacoma, Washington after taking in some of America’s most scenic areas.
