Rock, Rumble & Rebellion Chronicles: Kuryakyn Precision Line

Rock, Rumble & Rebellion custom 2017 Harley Street Glide

Kuryakyn might have officially announced its Precision Line for Milwaukee-Eight models yesterday, but guess what? Just about everything from the Precision Line is already on the Rock, Rumble & Rebellion bagger. Kuryakyn’s latest is designed to dress up areas of your engine that often get overlooked and will help riders spruce up their Milwaukee-Eight with a slew of bolt-on covers.

The list of products from Kuryakyn’s Precision Line featured on the custom 2017 Harley Street Glide Rock, Rumble & Rebellion bagger includes a Precision Transmission Shroud and Top Cover, Inner Primary Cover, Cylinder Base Cover, Tappet Block Accent, Starter and Oil Cooler Covers, Voltage Regulator Cover, and Servo Motor Cover. Considering the Rock, Rumble & Rebellion Street Glide was used to launch a new product line before it was available to the public makes it stand out even more in the crowded bagger segment.

So, if you didn’t already know, the RRR bike is for sale. To drive this point home, we hand it off to hype man Greg Smith of the Sturgis Buffalo Chip. Here’s how Greg broke it down on Facebook.

Rock, Rumble & Rebellion Chronicles: Kuryakyn Crusher and Hypercharger ES

Crazy John Street Drags at the Sturgis Buffalo Chip.

The Sturgis Buffalo Chip loves power so much it holds drag races right down the middle of its amphitheater! (Courtesy of the Sturgis Buffalo Chip)

Power. Bikers can never get enough. That’s why the first thing many riders do is swap out their stock air intakes and exhaust. It’s one of the easiest, quickest ways to boost horsepower and torque.

The Sturgis Buffalo Chip loves power. Why else would it hold drag races right down the middle of its amphitheater headed up by a guy named “Crazy John!”

The Chip’s love of power can also be seen in the Rock, Rumble & Rebellion bagger Kuryakyn built for them. This custom 2017 Harley Street Glide isn’t meant for simply cruising. It’s definitely got a performance bend to it.

For one, it’s already equipped with the new Milwaukee-Eight 107 claimed to put out 114 ft-lb. of torque at 3250 rpm. So what’d Kuryakyn do to squeeze even more power out of Harley’s new V-Twin? It followed the tried-and-true formula of swapping out its intake and exhaust.

Kuryakyn Hypercharger ES on Rock, Rumble & Rebellion bagger

The Kuryakyn Hypercharger ES got a fresh new look and a few performance tweaks.

To get the Rock, Rumble & Rebellion bagger breathing deeper Kuryakyn threw on its new Hypercharger ES intake. While the Hypercharger has been a staple in the Kuryakyn repertoire for about 20 years, they’ve revamped the ES with a modern, edgy look. On the performance side, Kuryakyn states “An integrated electronic servo motor delivers precise RPM-based butterfly engagement. The all-new custom Kuryakyn-designed high-flow K&N filter delivers approximately 10% more airflow than previous models for improved CFM rating, and a new internal ‘stinger’ design on the end cap maximizes airflow to the throttle body.” Kuryakyn’s Hypercharger ES is scheduled to be available for Twin Cam/XL models this month followed by the Milwaukee-Eight in late June.

Providing even more punch is a set of Kuryakyn Crusher Maverick 4” Slip-Ons for the Milwaukee-Eight in black. You think this thing barked before, you should hear it now. And while the Maverick Slip-Ons are available to the general public, you’ll only find the Crusher One-Off Custom Headers on the Rock, Rumble & Rebellion Street Glide. To ensure that the new air/fuel ratios are dialed in just right and the bike’s running at peak performance, the Rock, Rumble & Rebellion bagger has been outfitted with a Vance & Hines Fuelpak FP3.

Kuryakyn Speedform Saddlebag Extensions on RRR bagger

The Rock, Rumble & Rebellion bagger runs a set of Kuryakyn Crusher Maverick 4” Slip-Ons for the Milwaukee-Eight. In black, of course!

While we’re excited to be running a full feature on it in American Iron Magazine Issue #352, the Rock, Rumble & Rebellion bagger would have fit right in with our American Iron Power issue that’s just about to hit newsstands. From a turbo-boosted Sportster to Pete Hill’s Bonneville Racer to STAR Power’s Twin Cam upgrade, this special issue lives up to its name – American Iron Power! Even though it doesn’t hit newsstands until May 16 you can get your copy now at Greaserag.com

Rock, Rumble & Rebellion Chronicles: Kuryakyn Mesh Collection

Rock, Rumble & Rebellion Bagger 2017

News flash – it got jacked! The Rock, Rumble & Rebellion bagger was last seen heading down I-90 in the wee hours of the morning. Luckily, it was the Sturgis Buffalo Chip’s Lon Nordbye and Greg Smith who coordinated the heist. After months of searching, The Chip finally narrowed down its 2017 Poster Model to one lucky girl, Tawnielle Childs, who’s wasting little time settling in to her new role. Apparently The Chip did a photo shoot with Miss Childs and the Rock, Rumble & Rebellion bagger and we hear it was smokin’ hot. We’ll see if we can’t get a hold of some of those photos to share with you somewhere down the line.

Meanwhile, Kuryakyn just released its all-new 2017 Catalog with over 400 new product releases. You’ll find many of those products on the Rock, Rumble & Rebellion bagger, including several products from the company’s Mesh Collection. Launched in January, Kuryakyn says “The entire Mesh Collection incorporates multi-piece construction throughout. Most parts utilize a three-piece design integrating chrome or satin black aluminum outer frames with a satin black aluminum baseplate that’s exposed through satin black or chrome stainless steel mesh panels.” Hence the name.

RRR Street Glide 2017

You’ll find plenty of parts from Kuryakyn’s Mesh Collection on the Rock, Rumble & Rebellion bagger including this Chrome Mesh Derby Cover.

In the case of the Rock, Rumble & Rebellion bagger, you’ll find the Mesh Collection on the Timing Cover Kuryakyn has created for Harley’s new Milwaukee-Eight engine, some of the first trim you’ll find for H-D’s new powerplant. On the flipside of the bike is a sharp-looking Chrome Mesh Derby Cover.

While these two covers are easy to spot, you have to look closely to appreciate the other items from the Mesh Collection, one because they’re satin black instead of chrome and two because they blend in so cleanly to the build they’re easy to overlook. But the difference between a good bike and great is in the details, right? Peek at the brakes and you’ll find Kurakyn Mesh Caliper Covers adding a sweet custom touch. Up on the bars are a Mesh Master Cylinder Covers for both the front brake and clutch. In the recess of the Batwing fairing you’ll see a Mesh Fairing Vent Intake. Head back to the bags, look close and you’ll find Kuryakyn Mesh Saddlebag Hinge Covers.

Kuryakyn and The Sturgis Buffalo Chip Rock, Rumble & Rebellion Chronicles

In the recess of the Batwing fairing of the Rock, Rumble & Rebellion bagger is Kuryakyn’s Mesh Fairing Vent Intake.

Not sure how they’re going to pull it off seeing how the bike was just in Sturgis, but somehow they’re going to get it over to the East Coast just in time for Myrtle Beach Bike Week. It will be on display from 5/12 – 5/17 if you’re headed to the rally and would like to check it out. Maybe its potential buyer will be among that crowd as this thing’s for sale and will be going home with the highest bidder after the Sturgis Rally is over. Letting the bidding wars begin!

Kuryakyn, Sturgis Buffalo Chip’s Rock, Rumble & Rebellion Bagger a Smash at Donnie Smith

Rock, Rumble & Rebellion Street Glide

Kuryakyn and the Sturgis Buffalo Chip kicked off the Midwest’s biggest bike show with a bang, debuting the 2017 Rock, Rumble & Rebellion signature build in front of a packed house at the 30th annual Donnie Smith Bike & Car Show.

Representing seven days of electrifying racing in August at the Buffalo Chip Moto Stampede, the sleek, industrial appearance of the 2017 Harley-Davidson Street Glide strikes a balance of refinement and straight-up rawness.

“As an aftermarket company, we were honored to take on the challenge of representing the Buffalo Chip’s 35th anniversary last year with a bike build,” said Holger Mohr, Kuryakyn President. “As enthusiasts first and foremost, this year’s focus of bringing racing back to the Chip is equally exciting for us. The Kuryakyn design team came up with an authentic race theme that truly embodies the ‘rumble’ in Rock, Rumble and Rebellion. There’s no better way to introduce our newest products to core Kuryakyn customers, and we’re proud to do it alongside the Buffalo Chip on the biggest stage in the motorcycle industry.”

One of the main focal points on the purpose-built bagger is the freshly reimagined Hypercharger ES air cleaner. Symbolizing the evolution of one of Kuryakyn’s most iconic products, the Hypercharger ES features a radical new design with state-of-the-art electronic throttle response butterfly engagement. The integrated servomotor actuates the butterflies with every twist of the throttle, creating an interactive experience with the motorcycle that’s unlike anything available.

Additionally, more than 35 Kuryakyn accessories are featured on the build including select pieces from the new Mesh and Riot collections, as well as the soon-to-be-released Precision line of engine chrome for the Milwaukee-Eight. Renowned custom shop Gilby’s Street Dept. of River Falls, Wis., laid down a monochromatic race-inspired paint theme that marries everything together to create a cohesive push-pull of mechanical grit and class.

”The 2017 Rock, Rumble & Rebellion bike created by Kuryakyn truly captures the free spirit the biker community brings to the Chip every year,” said Rod Woodruff, Sturgis Buffalo Chip President. “The exhilaration of racing, the intensity of the concerts and the pure joy of the ride are represented in the power and beauty of this custom. Kuryakyn really hit it out of the park again.”

The build sheet also includes a host of familiar names including Jim Nasi Customs (Kuryakyn Signature Series Dash Console), a handmade custom-designed Mustang Seat, “Formula” wheels (21” front, 18” rear) and rotors from Performance Machine, “Razorback” Drag Bars from FMB Choppers, and “Milano” inverted front suspension from Italian-based manufacturer ODC.

The Rock, Rumble & Rebellion bagger will be featured in Issue #352 of American Iron Magazine!

The Rock, Rumble & Rebellion bike will be hitting the road and participating in various rides and events scheduled on Kuryakyn’s 2017 rally tour. Official media partner American Iron Magazine will also feature the custom Street Glide in issue #352, which hits newsstands on July 18.

Following the Sturgis Buffalo Chip’s 36th year of music, motorcycles and revelry held Aug. 4-12, the Rock, Rumble & Rebellion Street Glide will be offered for private sale. Anyone interested in purchasing the bike may call the Sturgis Buffalo Chip at 605-347-9000.

S&S to Debut 165 HP Dyna for Buffalo Chip’s 10th Legends Ride at Donnie Smith

Sturgis Buffalo Chip to unveil power-hungry one-off custom motorcycle at the Donnie Smith Bike & Car Show March 25.

In honor of the 10th Anniversary of the Buffalo Chip’s Legends Ride S&S Cycle, Inc. is debuting a 165-170 horsepower performance-styled Harley-Davidson Dyna Low Rider custom to be auctioned in support of the milestone event that kicks off in Deadwood, SD on Aug. 7. The fully customized Low Rider, designed to look and feel every bit a “muscle bike,” will be unveiled on Saturday, March 25 at 12:15 p.m. at the Donnie Smith Bike & Car Show in the St. Paul RiverCentre, St. Paul, Minn.

As the uncontested aftermarket leader in V-Twin performance parts for almost six decades, S&S Cycle transformed the 2017 club-style chopper into a sleek and stylish beast powered by a T143 Black Edition engine packing 143 cubic inches and 165 horsepower to the wheel. Harnessing that extra horsepower required S&S to upgrade the transmission, clutch and primary work. To clothe the powerful machine, S&S added a Russ Wernimont FXRT style fairing some Dyna Defender bags. The piece de resistance is the hot rod inspired striped paint job, which recalls the wildly popular classic muscle car, the Shelby Cobra.

S&S Sturgis Buffalo Chip Legends Ride 10th Anniversary Dyna Low Rider S

S&S Cycle works on a 165-170 hp Dyna Low Rider that will be the Sturgis Buffalo Chip’s 10th Anniversary Legends Ride auction bike.

“This incredibly beautiful and powerful bike created by the masters at S&S Cycle will be going up on the auction block at the Legends Ride this August,” said Rod Woodruff, President of the Sturgis Buffalo Chip. “It’s not only a real prize, but its sale will support the Ride, which has so far raised nearly half a million dollars for local charities including South Dakota Special Olympics and the Sturgis Motorcycle Museum. The top bidder is going to ride off on one incredible and unique motorcycle while feeling like a hero for supporting very worthy causes.”

To be one of the first to get a look at the 10th Anniversary Legends Ride bike, attend the official unveiling at the Donnie Smith Show on March 25. Information and photos will be posted at BuffaloChip.com after the event. The bike will be featured this summer in American Iron Magazine issue #351.

Buffalo Chip, Kuryakyn Bring Rock, Rumble & Rebellion to Donnie Smith Show

2017 Rock, Rumble & Rebellion bagger

The 2017 Rock, Rumble &  Rebellion bagger will be featured in Issue #352 of American Iron Magazine.

Stunning race-themed motorcycle to be unveiled and celebrated.

The Sturgis Buffalo Chip and Kuryakyn are back at it again with a second powerful dose of “Rock, Rumble & Rebellion” to gear up for the annual August rally in the Black Hills of South Dakota.

“The Largest Music Festival in Motorcycling” is now also the epicenter of all-things motorcycle racing, making the Sturgis Buffalo Chip the place to be for thrill-seeking adrenaline junkies. This year’s Buffalo Chip Moto Stampede showcases RSD Super Hooligan, American Flat Track Buffalo Chip TT, AMA Supermoto and the Street Drag Invitational with Crazy John, all of which will share center stage with some of the world’s top bands. To represent the festival’s hottest top-line events, Kuryakyn designed and built a one-off custom race-inspired machine to capture all the full-throttle action going down at the legendary campground.

The Grand Unveil
Together with the Buffalo Chip, Kuryakyn will pull the cover off the brand-new 2017 Harley-Davidson Street Glide during the 30th annual Donnie Smith Bike & Car Show. Media members and attendees are invited to witness the unveiling, which will take place on the show’s main floor stage at the St. Paul RiverCentre on Saturday, March 25 at 11 a.m.

“Kuryakyn has presented another absolute winner,” said Rod Woodruff, Sturgis Buffalo Chip President. “The race theme and the flat-out powerful look of the new Mesh and Riot collections capture the excitement of all of the action taking place at the Chip this summer. The person who gets to own this beauty after its tour of the motorcycle event circuit this summer is going to be one lucky biker.”

Rock Rumble Rebellion logo

Following the unveil, Kuryakyn will showcase this year’s signature bike at various rides and events leading up to the Sturgis Buffalo Chip’s 36th year of music, motorcycles and revelry Aug. 4-12.

“Once again we’re honored to represent the Sturgis Buffalo Chip through this signature bike build,” said Holger Mohr, Kuryakyn President. “Both brands personify the Rock, Rumble & Rebellion attitude. With street drag racing being one of the focuses for Rod and the Buffalo Chip team, we executed a design that balances the quintessential rawness of performance with the refinement of quality off-the-shelf Kuryakyn products. It presents the perfect medium to showcase our Crusher Performance Division, the new Mesh and Riot product collections, and also introduce the evolution of one of Kuryakyn’s most iconic products, the Hypercharger. The fact that we get to debut this bike in the Twin Cities, just a short ride from our headquarters in Somerset, makes it even more special for our team.”
