Black Brand Cheater Helmets

“If you ain’t cheatin’, you ain’t tryin’.”

Oh, yeah. You’ve heard that one before, most recently attributed to the many, let’s say, suspicious, activities of the New England Patriots. But it’s an age-old term, one I’ve often heard said by old-timers who I play pick-up basketball at the park with as they throw an elbow into my kidneys or step on my toes as I attempt to ascend for a rebound. “If you ain’t cheatin’, you ain’t tryin’, kid.” No doubt. Check the ball.

Here we have the Black Brand Cheater helmets, named so because they appear to be cheating the DOT laws, so small you might think they’re novelty. But the Cheater Series of helmets from Black Brand present a no-compromise solution to mushroom head. We’ve all seen a person wearing a 1/2- or 3/4-helmet that looks just like a giant mushroom has grown on their head. It does not look cool—and the extra wind it catches makes your neck stiff on a long ride.

So it would appear as those Black Brand is cheating, but in fact it’s trying quite hard to bring customers a helmet that functions as effectively as possible without sacrificing anything in the looks department.

The Black Brand Cheater helmets use a combination of multiple shell sizes and in-molded Composite Fusion Technology to provide the smallest, safest DOT approved helmets around. It’s the 21st century, and nano remains chic.

In-molded EPS liner means the first layer is injected directly to the shell, which looks like a set of spikes when the mold releases. Then a second, opposite set of spikes is injected in. This process pits different triangulated densities of foam against each other. In the possibility of an impact, impact force will be distributed across triangulated surfaces, rather than trying to crush a foam beer cooler.

The Black Brand Cheater helmets are available in either 1/2 or 3/4 helmets; the 1/2 helmet is available in four sizes, S, M, L/XL, and XXL. The 3/4 helmet is available in three sizes, XS/S, M/L, XL/XXL. Check out where you will find the Cheater 1/2 helmet for $99.95, and the Cheater 3/4 helmet available for $130.
