Your Thoughts On This Low Budget Harley Motorcycle Tour?
Buzz Kanter, our editor-in-chief, is considering a different kind of article in American Iron Magazine, where he and a riding partner buy a pair of used, high mileage Harley baggers on-line. Then they fly out and ride back at least 1,500 or more miles to Connecticut and share the experience on-line and in print.
He’s thinking of capping the price of the bike at a level most readers could afford for a decent, used Harley-Davidson. Thinking either a Twin Cam Harley bagger or Ultra, which can be purchased with under 60,000 at great prices, or an older, but more expensive bike like a Harley Shovelhead or Panhead, which would run more money.
Also the motorcycle tour needs to be at least 1,500 back roads miles and be interesting, like perhaps visiting 4 or 5 motorcycle museums around the country. Perhaps a multi motorcycle museum tour including the Harley-Davidson Museum, the National Motorcycle Museum, Barber Motorsports Museum, Wheels Through Time, the AMA Motorcycle Museum and/or Motorcyclopedia.
