Go, Buzz, Go: AIM E-i-C Competing in 2016 FIM NA Vintage Road Racing Championships
The United States Classic Racing Association (USCRA) 2016 FIM North America Vintage Road Racing Championships are hitting the track this weekend at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Classes range from Flyweight 100 GP to Pre-50 to Supermasters. Sidecar races, always a crowd favorite, will also be held. Grid positions for Sunday’s final FIM races will be determined by Saturday’s results, but both Saturday’s “Heat” and Sunday’s “Finals” will be points and award-earning races. This weekend’s schedule also includes the 9th annual ‘Big Fish, Small Pond’ 3-Hour Endurance Race.
The USCRA, the oldest vintage motorcycle road racing organization in the U.S., selected road racing legend and American Motorcyclist Association Hall of Fame inductee Mike Baldwin as Grand Marshal of the 16th annual FIM North America Vintage Road Race Championships. Saturday night there’s a potluck BBQ after the races to add to the festivities.
American Iron’s Editor-in-Chief, Buzz Kanter, will be competing in the tank shift class aboard his 1937 Indian Sport Scout. Look for the blue Scout with the #49 race plate. Be sure to check out Buzz’s Facebook page to find out how he fares.
The races help kick off the oldest motorcycle rally in the United States, Laconia Motorcycle Week, which is celebrating its 93rd anniversary.
