Indian Motorcycle and Jack Daniel’s Partner Once Again on Custom Motorcycle
Take the first registered American distillery, Jack Daniel’s, and pair it with America’s oldest motorcycle manufacturer, and what you have is the makings of an indelible story (not to mention a wicked marketing campaign). American companies of reputable prestige are as popular as ever, as the masses shift to support those that have been doing it well for so long. Indian and Jack Daniel’s have partnered once again to build another JD-inspired limited-edition custom, enlisting none other than Brian Klock and Klock Werks Kustom Cycles.
The idea behind the Springfield Dark Horse was to emulate Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel Select, a premium whiskey offered by the Tennessee distillery. And few things endear themselves to motorcycle maniacs quite like fabricating the objects we desire with our own hands. Jack Daniel’s is the only major distillery to hand-build its own oak barrels, from which the Single Barrel Select derives its distinctive flavor.
If you’re feeling thirsty, let’s move onto the bike, which is almost entirely handpainted by craftsmen on the Indian Motorcycle team.
“The team at Jack Daniel’s relies immensely on their passionate and specialized craftsmen to control the Single Barrel Select process from beginning to end, as each of them pour their personal pride and loyalty into the product every day,” said Reid Wilson, Senior Director for Indian Motorcycle. “Our team at Indian Motorcycle shares that same passion for craftsmanship and developed this motorcycle as a tribute to all the craftsmen who value working with their hands and are committed to developing products of the finest quality.”
The styling takes cues from the wood grain of those handmade barrels, with a two-tone Heavy Metal Crystal and Thunder Black Vivid Crystal paint scheme. The Steel Gray graphics were overlaid by hand.
Something’s gotta make this thing go, right? That’s handled by the 116″ Thunder Stroke at the heart of the barrel. It’s the first-ever stock 116″ to come straight from the factory.
Other features include 12″ mini-apes, quick-release windshield, LED lighting, slammed bags, genuine leather seat, and a Jack Daniel’s branded tank strap.
Due to demand, this year Indian and Jack Daniel’s will use a new digital promotion to select which consumers will be granted the opportunity to be proud owners of the Jack Daniel’s Limited Edition Indian Springfield Dark Horse. The entry process is already under way, lasting until 11:59 pm EST on March 17. Interested customers can enter the promotion for a chance to purchase one of the 177 bikes at www.2019jackdanielsindianmotorcycle.com.
