Top 3 Dennis Kirk Garage Builds of the Week

The Dennis Kirk Garage Build site is open for business. The pages are starting to fill up with garage builds from around the world, and we’re keeping a close eye on who’s doing what. With that in mind, let’s wrap up the week with some of our favorites. We’ll eventually be picking a winner from the Garage Build site to be featured in American Iron Garage, so get to wrenchin’ and get to postin’.

2006 Sportster XLCH

Rodney S. bagged out his 2006 Sportster, aka “Night Glide,” tricking it out with such goodies like a Twisted Choppers 2-into-1 exhaust, a teardrop S&S intake, DNA wheels with Avon skins, and a Blood Red Pearl paint job.

1998 Sportster XL1200S

Another Sportster, this one looks a bit more the part. Submitted by Steve M., he took his ’98 XL1200S, aka “Bloodbath,” up several notches with ported heads, a compression ratio of 11.5:1, a Mikuni carb, and a Patriot 2-into-1 exhaust. The suspension comes courtesy of a Kawasaki ZR1000 front fork and Progressive shocks. Boom

Hardtail Shovelhead

Johnny K.’s Shovelhead—no nickname here—built this hardtail Shovelhead way back in 1993. He spent a pretty penny building it, too, but you can check out his receipt for yourself. It’s a 86″ engine with dual plug heads, Morris dual-magneto ignition, and Truett & Osborne flywheels. Exhaust? “Loud.”
